Saint Evo graces us again with another EP release before his slated debut album, JERU The Album, titled Vika Vu. The EP is released under Angolan record label Seres Produções, predominantly known for its hit continental releases of Kuduro, Afro House, Tribal House, Ancestral House amongst other sub genres of house music. Boasting a stable of rich artists such as, one of the pioneers of Kuduro & House in Angola DJ Satelite, Wilson Kentura, Rosario Silva, Pastrana, DJ Spilulu just to mention a few. The two track EP is accompanied with a radio edit for each song as well as an instrumental for the DJ/Producers to amp their live sets making it a total of six tracks.
“Vika Vu” is a phrase from the indeginous language of the Kamba tribe in Kenya, meaning in English is “Get There” or “Getting There”. The phrase “Vika Vu” in this context it means the ideology of one following their dream and achieving it, regardless of the adversities they face. The EP features the sultry vocals of the First Lady Of Equatorial House, Inami.
Inami is a vocalist, instrumentalist, designer & a well rounded musician that is taking her share in the house music movement in Kenya & Africa at large. She assumes a mix of her native dialect Kamba and English in her lyrical delivery of the first track, “Vika Vu” as she expounds her English finesse on the second track, “On My Way Home”. Taking the audience on a journey of self reflection & self awareness.
The new release has already garnered support from House DJs in Angola, Lisbon (Portugal) & Kenya listed on summer Top 10 charts on Traxsource as well massive response from various online scenes new to the Equatorial sound. A glimpse of what to expect from his debut album and collaborations to come hence forth.
